Río Hondo College will proudly celebrate the Class of 2026 during its 63rd Commencement Ceremony, scheduled for Friday, May 22, at 9 a.m. on campus. As the institution’s most significant annual celebration, commencement honors the achievements, ambition and academic success of students who have reached this extraordinary milestone.
This year, 1,857 graduates will earn Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees, representing a major milestone in their educational journeys. Many will continue their studies at universities, building on the foundation established at Río Hondo College as they pursue new academic and professional opportunities.
Also among this year’s graduating class are 17 students who will receive a Bachelor of Science in Automotive Technology, reflecting Río Hondo College’s continued commitment to expanding access to affordable, high-quality bachelor’s degree programs that prepare students for specialized careers in high-demand industries.
The ceremony will feature keynote remarks from Dr. Monica Sánchez, Mayor Pro Tem for the city of Pico Rivera, whose leadership and longstanding commitment to public service have made a meaningful impact throughout the region.
Leading this year’s graduating class is valedictorian Huy Tran, who maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average during his time at Río Hondo College and will transfer to UCLA this fall to continue his academic journey.
Commencement is a defining moment not only for graduates, but also for the families, mentors, faculty and friends who supported them along the way. The ceremony will bring together the Río Hondo College community to celebrate the Class of 2026 and the transformative opportunities made possible through higher education.
As graduates cross the commencement stage and officially join the College’s alumni community, they carry forward the knowledge, experiences and inspiration gained at Río Hondo College — ready to make meaningful contributions in their communities, professions and beyond.
