KINA130 & KINA230 Course Information
KINA 130 & KINA230 is about your personal fitness, health and wellness. This course can help you work towards being the best version of yourself. Our goal is to create a space where you can achieve developing a sound body and mind through your fitness, health and wellness journey.
This course is a self-paced physical fitness laboratory designed to develop and encourage positive health and wellness attitudes and habits. Topics include cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, body composition, muscular strength, and endurance. Students are assessed in each of these areas, and an individual fitness profile is established. Fitness activities primarily utilize exercises organized into an aerobic super circuit with additional activities prescribed to increase strength and flexibility.
This course is a self-paced physical fitness laboratory designed to develop and encourage positive health and wellness attitudes and habits. The course provides students with the skills and information needed to improve cardiovascular fitness through activities like running, rowing, cycling, core training, aerobic activity, aerobic circuit, and resistance bands. Students learn about the importance of nutrition, blood pressure, heart rate, and exercise target zones in relation to cardiovascular disease.
All KINA130 and KINA230 students will need to complete the orientation/quiz and testing assessment (when on ground).

Students that sign up for KINA130 or KINA230 will need to earn their hours in the fitness center. This is an on-ground course for Fall and all students will need to complete workouts in the Fitness & Wellness Center.
Student Orientation Details
Orientation sessions will be scheduled on a first come, first serve basis for the first two weeks of the Fall Session starting on Monday, August 15th. Once you are registered for KINA130 or KINA230, you can sign up for your orientation two ways:
If you happen to call and get the recording, please leave a clear message providing ALL of the details outlined above. A FWC staff member will call you back to confirm your orientation details. Messages that are left Friday-Sunday will receive call backs on Monday.
Fitness & Wellness Center Orientation Schedule / Classroom PE105 for one-hour lecture
IMPORTANT!!!! ALL KINA130 and KINA230 STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO ATTEND AN ORIENTATION AND PASS THE ORIENTATION QUIZ PRIOR TO WORKING OUT IN THE FITNESS CENTER. FITNESS & WELLNESS CENTER PROTOCOL WILL BE COVERED IN THE ORIENTATIONS.
If you have successfully completed KINA130 and would like to continue working out in the Fitness Center, sign up for KINA 230. KINA230 students that passed KINA130 and completed a post-test the previous consecutive semester (summer) will need to complete an orientation for Fall but will not need to complete a testing assessment.
Student Identification Cards will be required to workout in the Fitness & Wellness Center.
