Several visual artists were contacted and were asked to submit new, previously unseen work, and then images were given to several poets who wrote pieces based on the visual work. Those, along with the visual imagery, were given to composers (our own George Wheeler-Gomez among them) and they wrote works based on both the poems and the visual work.

Liesel Euler, is participating in a play at the Son of Semele Ensemble theater in Silver Lake beginning March 3rd, 2018. She plays 3 roles, including a singing mermaid (!), and describes the play as fun, smart, and hopeful.

Miyo Stevens-Gandara, Digital Photography Faculty

The Riverside Art Museum (RAM) will be showing printmaking work by Miyo Stevens-Gandara and many other Self Help Graphics artists in an exhibition titled: Aztlán, the Permanent Collection, and Beyond. The works include earlier SHG prints from the RAM collection along with current works from SHG’s collection.
