During the COVID-19 pandemic, the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Team remains committed to the educational and personal advancement of our TRIO SSS participants. The TRIO SSS Team will continue to provide all services through remote platforms such as zoom confer, Google Hangouts , email and phone.
All current TRIO SSS participants should have received a TRIO SSS Remote Services Guide for Students (via email) on Friday, March 27, 2020. The guide provides critical information regarding how to make appointments with our TRIO SSS Counselors, Educational Advisor, Student Success Coach and/or Project Director. Additionally, the guide outlines instructions for joining the TRIO SSS Program GroupMe. The GroupMe is the best way of remaining in contact with the TRIO SSS Team in real time.
As we transition to remote services, our (remote) office hours remain the same:
Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What is TRIO Student Support Services?
The TRIO SSS Program serves first-generation, low-income and/or students with disabilities. Our goal is to serve and empower TRIO SSS participants as they journey toward their goal of graduating and/or earning a certificate and/or transferring to a four-year university. The TRIO SSS Program provides students with educational counseling and advisement, financial aid information, financial and economic literacy, specialized tutoring, and social, cultural and educational field trips.
Mission Statement
The TRIO Student Support Services Program (SSS) mission is to provide college counseling and other student services in a compassionate, encouraging and supportive manner to a diverse group of Rio Hondo College students, such that all students will be aware of and eligible to graduate and transfer to a four year university.
